The role & opportunity
We are seeking to hire a Senior Financial Operations Officer to join our finance team to support and develop our financial operations and assist the other elements of our finance department. We are expanding the Financial Operations team and are looking for someone to be part of our journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily Transactional processing and monitoring
Manage Treasury Management & monitoring of safeguarded accounts
Take care of Settlements clearing and daily payments to Card Schemes
Assist the line manager with month-end journals and reconciliations
Assist in maintaining the Financial Operations Manual with any updated procedures & processes
Assist in the monthly Platform reconciliations to be provided to the Corporate Accounting Team
Provide support to our external audits
Provide support to our external partners to resolve reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner
Provide support to our internal (non-finance) teams to improve financial operations.
Provide ad hoc financial reports requested by senior management
Your experience and background:
Early-stage businesses like Weavr need resourceful, and proactive individuals who are flexible at doing what needs to be done. It’s essential for all the team to be hands-on, able to work independently on their own initiative and to operate in a flexible manner. The ideal candidate should have all of the following criteria, and a few of the preferred:
In possession of a Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business and Computing
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the Payments Industry
Excellent command of verbal, written and interpersonal communication in English
Strong attention to detail
Excellent analytical skills
Proactive and can-do attitude
High Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel
Excellent time management skills
Knowledge of SQL querying language
Preferred:
Experience in Chargeback handling and processing is an asset
Experience in Quickbooks Online is an asset
Knowledge of Postman, Jira and Confluence is a plus
