The position
The role will require scientific leadership within kidney disease and participation in global project teams in close collaboration with experts in other areas such as in vitro biology, chemistry, formulations, histology, and bioanalysis. Depending on your seniority, you will be guiding 1-2 laboratory technicians.
Your main responsabilities will include:
Contribution to innovation by identifying and evaluation of new therapeutic agents for the treatment of CKD through target identification, validation, and pre-clinical evaluation of novel treatment options
planning and executing in vivo studies, data analysis, interpreting of data, and recommendations for next steps to project teams and senior leadership
interaction with external research collaborators in both academic and industry settings, attend scientific conferences, and publish in scientific journals.
This role requires an outside travel of 0-10%.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role you will have:
Hands on experience with preclinical in vivo kidney models with focus on progressive injuries in glomeruli, tubules, interstitium and/or vasculature, as well as disease-specific mechanisms of inflammation, fibrosis and human translational relevance of such models.
PhD in life sciences, a proven track record of publications in scientific journals, as well as a strong scientific network within the field of renal disease.
Industry experience, knowledge of pharmacology and/or drug discovery principles and/or experience with preclinical models of cardiovascular disease is an asset.
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
As an individual, you are a dedicated, open-minded, and innovative team player with good collaboration and problem-solving skills. You enjoy working in cross-disciplinary teams and independently on multiple programs in a fast-paced environment.

The department consists of 12 employees of whom 5 are Research Scientists on various levels. Måløv is the largest research center of Novo Nordisk, a site for innovation, idea generation, and preclinical testing of medicine candidates across our therapy areas.
