Your responsibilities and tasks:
The R&D department is responsible for developing tomorrow’s products to ensure our technological leadership. We take ownership of large and small development projects, from the idea stage to product launch and operation. Mechanical R&D has a central role and together with some of the best process and software engineers in the industry, we develop a wide span of equipment; from purely mechanical products to digitized mechatronic solutions.
You will report to the Senior Manager for Powder Handling - Mechanical R&D and closely collaborate with colleagues both from the R&D group and the wider organization. You will work exclusively on strategic R&D projects, focusing on developing GEAs future powder handling solutions.
Your responsibilities:
- Together with the project team conceptualize and design components with attention to performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Produce Mock-ups/prototypes, as well as test facilities, to enable inhouse evaluation of performance.
- Take part in external prototype testing as necessary.
Your profile and qualifications:
The ideal candidate can check off the following boxes:
- Holds a M.Sc. degree or equivalent within mechanical engineering.
- Theoretically well founded with an aptitude for the more practical aspects of mechanical engineering.
- Driven by developing products that will be commercial successes.
- Creative, innovative and result oriented.
- Knowledge of measurement techniques, analog/digital hardware design and/or software development is a plus.
- Experience from the process industry and sanitary design is a plus, but not a requirement.
